There are a few requirements for a wedding in Costa Rica. You’ll need a lawyer to officiate at your wedding ceremony and you’ll need to provide copies of your birth certificates, passports, parents’ names, 2 witnesses; keep in mind they’ll need to present their passports for identification. You’ll also need to have your wedding certificate translated into English by a certified translator, authenticated by the Costa Rican Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the U.S. embassy in San Jose, Costa Rica, to have your marriage recognized back home. Croc’s event planner can help you find a lawyer to officiate your wedding and to handle all of the paperwork for you.
